Entry 7: Argumentative Writing

Commit crime for selfish reason.


Crime is a category created by law. The term crime denotes an unlawful act punishable by the state. Crime also called an offence or criminal offence, is an act harmful not only to some individual, but also to the community or the state. People commit crime because of their selfish reasons.

The first reason why people commit crimes are because of greed. Greed is people who wanting to own something that is beyond his financial budget. For example, a person would like to own a sports car, but it is beyond his budget. His greed will prompts him to steal money from the bank or from someone. When the person get caught, he will be charged for committing crime. This shows that people commit crimes because of selfish reasons.

Other reason of why people commit crime is because of hatred. This hatred might be caused by peer influence or being envious towards other wealth and prosperity. This person might sending threat to victims family try to scared them. This hatred also can be divided into racial statement.

In conclusion, it is true that people commit crimes for selfish reasons. They should avoid themselves to crime activities, also ensuring the world to be a safer place to live on.
